A plain-language explanation of how SavvySnipper uses information to provide shopping research and product features.

Last updated: July 23, 2026

Information you choose to provide

SavvySnipper receives information you submit through the product, such as shopping questions, an email address and consent choice for alerts, target prices, watchlist preferences, and support messages. If account sign-in is enabled, we use the information supplied by the sign-in provider to associate private records with the correct account.

Shopping questions and AI

Questions submitted to Ask Savvy are sent to OpenAI to produce the requested response. The application does not currently write those question contents to its product database. Do not submit passwords, payment-card details, government identifiers, health records, or other information that is unnecessary for a shopping recommendation.

First-party product analytics

The beta records a limited set of approved events such as page views, analysis starts, guide clicks, alert signups, and affiliate clicks. These events contain the page path without its query string, a session-only random identifier, an event time, and small predefined properties such as placement. The analytics code does not intentionally collect IP addresses, browser user-agent strings, pasted product URLs, or cross-site advertising identifiers.

Do Not Track and the Global Privacy Control signal disable the corresponding first-party browser event collection. The anonymous session identifier is stored in session storage and is not designed to follow a visitor after that browser session ends.

Alerts and watchlists

Email alert records include the submitted address, the source of the signup, selected interests, the consent version, and subscription status. A guest watchlist stores selected product identifiers, target prices, an alternatives preference, and save times in local storage on that device. Account watchlists can later include the owner and alert channel in the private database. Product-specific email delivery and account synchronization remain disabled until the required hosted services and user controls are configured.

Retailer and affiliate measurement

When a visitor follows a paid retailer link, SavvySnipper records the offer, placement, campaign where applicable, and click time. The destination retailer and affiliate network may collect data under their own notices. Network conversion reports can later provide transaction identifiers, order amount, commission, status, and time so SavvySnipper can measure referrals and reconcile earnings.

Cookies and similar storage

SavvySnipper uses essential browser storage to remember a guest watchlist and limited session storage for first-party analytics. Affiliate networks and destination retailers may set their own cookies or use similar technologies after you follow a paid link. Their practices are governed by their own notices.

Sharing and service providers

We share information only as needed to operate the service: with hosting, database, email, analytics, AI, affiliate-network, and retailer providers; when required by law; or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell personal information for money. We do not permit an affiliate commission to change a Savvy Score or organic recommendation.

Retention, access, and deletion

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including security, recordkeeping, and affiliate reconciliation. Subscribers can unsubscribe from marketing emails. To request access, correction, or deletion of information connected to an account, contact contact@savvysnipper.com. We may need to verify the request and may retain limited information where law or legitimate business needs require it.

Security and children

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, but no internet service is perfectly secure. SavvySnipper is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes and contact

We may update this notice as the product changes. A revised date will appear above. Privacy questions can be sent to contact@savvysnipper.com.
